Not all streamers just play games and are out to collect followers. Some gamers have seen the potential in games like Red Dead Online and Grand Theft Auto V to play long form scenes based on their characters in the game. These gamers stay in character and try not to reference the game as a game or reference the real world, hardly engaging in chat. It’s understandable that the interaction level with viewers is low being that the gamers have to concentrate on what’s happening in game and are not looking to break character.

Role Playing at its finest!

KKryptix is a true role-playing gamer as I’ve ever seen. When I started to watch his GTA V stream I wasn’t sure what audio I was hearing, the game or his own voice work, KKryptix was hanging out with his crew in a liquor store, looking for leads on what heist they wanted to plan next. The players who were part of the stream all stayed in character and it made for some consistent laughing moments as the friends were fixing their weapons and dressing their characters. One of the party members had to use the restroom and excused himself, a few moments later the store was overcome by a planned police raid. KKryptix and his crew were caught unaware and off guard and were either slaughtered or arrested.

The crew immediately called foul play on the police as none of the suspects in the liquor store were armed or did they fire a shot. The streamers, who are all in character still, were very upset at the Police Departments overstepping of the rules of engagement. The police used excessive force in taking prisoners and, in one case, one gamer was executed while still in custody.

These streamers take their role play very seriously and the allegations of rival gangs using alternate characters “disguised” as police to grief their nemesis started to flow as the role-playing paramedics in the game started to administer to the wounded. The paramedics loaded up the bodies and took them to the hospital as the crew continued to voice their displeasure with the breach of protocol.

Toxic gaming or RP Cops being Cops?

In the real world of what was going on in the stream it was a sign of the toxicity of gamers harassing gamers and robbing them of their fun. The gamers are playing on a serious Role-playing server and to have gamers not respecting the role-playing aspect of the gameplay. The streamers were starting to get very frustrated with the police who continued not to follow the RP aspect in the hospital as the hospital staff tried to administer medical care but couldn’t without the PD present to remove their handcuffs.

In the end Kkryptix did his best to speak to the gamers who were Role-playing as the PD to try to appeal to their sense of fair gameplay. I true lover of the genre who wants to make the best content he can. However, just like the police in the real world, his words fell on deaf ears and he was booked into custody.

The role play on all of Kkryptix’s streams is on point with role-play and very entertaining when he is not having other players ruin “The scene” as he calls it I highly recommend following this streamer if you’re into funny, lighthearted but serious role-playing gaming content!
