Beware all you goblins and ghouls, Dr. Junkenstein is at it again! The Overwatch Halloween 2021 update is Alive…it’s ALIVE!!! Just like “the great pumpkin & Charlie brown”, THE overwatch Halloween Terror update is something that is becoming a Halloween tradition fans and gamers look forward to every year!
What’s new in this year’s Halloween Terror update?
5 new Legendary skins that’s what!
- Draugr Reinhardt is a classic Scandinavian undead that’s absolutely terrifying! I would hate to get caught in a crypt with this ancient walking dead!
- Vampire Bat Echo- Echo is in my opinion one of the cutest characters in Overwatch and this skin is absolutely bloodsucking adorable!!!
- Vampire Hunter Brigitte-Buffy has nothing on this slayer, Brigitte is ready to pierce some hearts in this golden armor!
- Satyr Lucio-he’s literally the GOAT in this evil looking Satyr skin! ‘Nuff Said
- Coffin Bastion-is bursting with thriller vibes! This skin has Bastion unable to contain the zombie within!
Trick or Game modes a-plenty!
Junkenstein’s Revenge
4 players take on waves of terrors, including Junkenstein and his Zomnic Machines, the Monster, the Summoner, the Reaper, and the Witch.
Junkenstein’s Endless
Hold your ground with your compatriots as an unending slew of monstrosities lays siege to Adlersbrunn. How long will you last before you succumb to the horrors of Junkenstein!
Within these Halloween Terror themed modes there are 6 different options:
- Vengeful Ghost: An evil ghost chases players around the map sucking their life from them until they die!
- Frenzied Stampede: The Zomnic move at an very fast pace…if you’re into that kinda thing.
- Volatile Zomnics: Zomnics explode and they try to take everyone down with them!
- Three There Were: A 3 player roster but the players do more damage!
- Mystery Swap: Don’t get too comfortable with that player you picked because it’s not going to stay that way, this mode they switch periodically
- Shocking Surprise: When Zomincs explode they can spawn a Shock-Tire!
There are 27 games that players have to compete in across Competitive, Quick Play, and Arcade that players can participate in to unlock exclusive Halloween skins that are only available for a limited time and once they gone, they will probably stay gone! So play often and try to win, wins count as double towards the 9 targets players need to fill weekly. Beware: these Halloween game modes are HARD!
Week 1 October 12-19 Skeleton Genji
Genji is wearing a skeleton getup that would make the Cobra-Kai jealous! If you don’t know what that reference is to check out the original Karate Kid which I consider a Halloween Movie as equal to Die Hard being a Holiday Flick!

Week 2 October 19-26 Einherjar Zarya
This one I had to look up the meaning of and it’s pretty cool. It “Old Norse” and it means those who have died in battle and are brought to Valhalla by the Valkyries! How ‘effin cool is that?!?

- Play 27 Games to win the Skin!
Week 3 October 26-November 2 Clown Roadhog
Roadhog is every coulrophobics nightmare! He’s like Pennywise and the Insane Clown Posse had a kid named it “Carrot Top.” If this guy is your main you could have an advantage on intimidation alone!

Halloween Loot boxes:
It wouldn’t be Halloween without the special Halloween Loot Boxes and this year, like every year so thus far, they are shaped like Jack O’Lanterns filled with new skins, intros, icons, sprays, and items from years’ Halloween Terror events you might have missed!
The Halloween Terror 2021 event ended on November 2.
