Maximum is one of the more popular streamers on Twitch exclusively playing World of Warcraft. As a sponsored member of team Liquid, some of his videos have over 1 million views on Twitch, which is no small feat. Several other of his past streams have over 500k views each. Maximum is no stranger to large crowds and given the knowledge he spews while streaming it’s easy to see why. Watching one of his streams is like taking a college course in how to WoW.
Maximum – the Maximus of WoW Raids
During the live stream that I was watching Maximum wasn’t actually playing a character in game, but rather coaching a team of players on how to properly raid. Maximum took the time to explain the positioning of the characters and help them understand the strategy they needed to implement in order to come out successively and defeat the raid boss. Once the raid started, Maximum coordinated the teams’ attacks, like an NFL coach calling plays on the sidelines. Maximum was seeing what some of his teammates couldn’t see, and the players in game were successful when they listened and paid the price when they didn’t.
Watching Maximum’s past streams of boss raids is a good way to learn how to raid with others. Players should notice that their chat isn’t overwhelmed with multiple people talking all at once, which during stressful game play can make a hard situation even more difficult. Maximum constantly communicates with his team in a calm voice, saying please and thank you often.
Maximum streams almost daily and for many hours at a time, like 8-10 on average. The stamina that it takes and dedication to streaming is impressive. During one of his past streams, which was taking place at 5 am his time, he jokingly said:
“you know I must really love this game and streaming with you guys because I have never woken up at this time and done anything, ever.”
That love of gaming is obvious by watching just a few minutes of any of his streams and his massive view numbers prove it.
Maximum takes part in the Twitch drop reward program so viewers are able to earn additional exclusive in game items for whatever game they’re watching live. Some of the titles for Maximum’s streams don’t make sense to me, apparently after reading the comments section, they don’t make sense to other viewers as well. Maybe it’s some sort of LEET code? I dunno, I’m sure they make sense to him.
Unfortunately, Maximum was so busy in the game that it was impossible to get his attention. He interacts with chat sporadically and has so many viewers chatting with each other about several different topics at once, it’s difficult to keep up or be taken seriously when asking questions in chat. He does have chat moderators, but they were not much help in answering personal questions. Maximum’s streams are entertaining and very educational to watch. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to learn how to party and raid dungeons well.
