This month, PlayStation Essentials subscribers are treated to not one, not two, but three free games! Two of them I’ve actually heard of too! The one I hadn’t, isn’t too bad of a game either. With this month’s free PlayStation plus games, Players can go head to head in Hot Wheels Unleashed fun, beat the Man of Steel into submission in Injustice 2, or slowly dodge bullets and throw weapons at polygon shaped attackers in Super Hot.

The 6 available race tracks in Hot Wheels Unleashed are set to a backdrop of life sized real world environments. Players have to avoid obstacles like toys and basketballs that roll across the track.
Players can create their own hot wheels race tracks to fulfill those childhood dreams of building the ultimate race track that your mom will never yell at you to take down or your dad won’t accidentally destroy because he wasn’t paying attention. Players can share their creation with the community as well as play other players creations.
Campaign mode takes players through all of the games maps and allows players to earn Hot Wheels drop boxes and specific cars.
Hot Wheels Unleashed has a split screen multiplayer game mode so gamers can go head to head with friends or family or go online for 12 person multiplayer races.
One of the coolest things I like about Hot Wheels Unleashed is the attention to detail in the game. The Hot Wheels look like they are actually toys. The mold lines are visible and the paint and tires show wear and tear from usage. Players can customize their cars as well as change the material the Hot Wheel is made of.
The controls of the cars in Hot Wheels Unleashed is very simple and is on par with most racing games today. Drifting and power ramps can send the Hot Wheels flying through the air but can land the car in an advantageous position especially if the driver can learn how to ride the air and maneuver their car just right.
This is a really fun game for all ages!
Injustice 2
The long anticipated sequel to the successful and popular Injustice game, Injustice 2 is the DC hero side scrolling fighting game that is every Comic book fans dream come true!
Injustice 2 takes place in a “fractured universe” where all alliances and bonds are broken. The justice league has broken up because Batman and Superman can’t stop arguing, the “yo Momma” jokes got old apparently. Meanwhile, in the skies above metropolis, The villain known as Brainiac is hatching an evil plan!
Players are able to customize their favorite hero’s with “gear”. These items can be unlocked by completing milestones or competing in game. These gear items not only change the look of their character but can also change their abilities.
Injustice 2 allows Players to take part in the multiverse. The multiverse is a series of worlds that have changing dynamics to the game settings, making gameplay a lot more challenging. These game elements change daily and weekly.

Super Hot
Super Hot is a game that looks like it was an early trial run for a Matrix combat training simulator written by Jason Statham and designed by Salvador Dali. The game is minimalist and cubist in its design, a little weird in its story, but definitely an interesting FPS.
Super Hot is made up of short levels of escalating difficulty. Red polygon enemies attack from different directions. Sometimes they are armed with a gun, sometimes a bat or other melee weapons.
The first most noticeably unique aspect, aside from the games look, is that time only progress in game when the player moves. This “frozen time” can be used to look around for new enemies or weapons that can be picked up. Players can also change their direction to avoid bullets. Bullets are easy to see and have a long red trail behind them. Players have limited ammo but can throw their weapon to disable an opponent. Players can also hit Opponents with their fists. If the enemy was carrying a weapon they can drop it and the player can pick it up. If the player is fast enough or uses the frozen time properly, they can catch the weapon mid-air. Overall the game look is very simple but the gameplay is entertaining and engaging. The design of the game was done so intentionally in order to let gamers concentrate on the fight. If players are killed they have to start the level all over again, however, the enemies do not spawn in different areas so players can better plan their strategy and attack the next time around. It sounds simple but it does get very challenging.
