Now players can join up with their pals and kick flip and air walk to their hearts content. The graphics on Tony Hawk have been upgraded for NexGen consoles.
Gamers can create their own skater to take online or to play the game with. Players can gather skill point bonuses that they can allocate to their skaters attributes.
Players can add:

Players have special move slots that unlock as they level up. These are tricks that can be executed once the skaters special bar is maxed out.
The skater customization options are:

Music was always a big part of Tony Hawk and just hearing those first notes of “Superman” by Goldfinger immediately transported me back to my college days of playing hours and hours of the free demo of Tony Hawk that I got when I ordered a pizza. No joke. Once the full game came out the hours of fun flew by with the help of the toe tapping hits. Old skaters like me appreciate the classics but now there are new artists and songs added to the playlist. Now I feel cooler that I am being exposed to what “the kids” are listening to today, not bad.
Some of the 37 new tracks are:
- Chick Norris-“Made Me Do”
- DZ Deathrays-“IN-TO-IT”
- Junk Bunny-“Sedona”
- A Tribe Called Quest-“Can I Kick It?”
- All Talk-“Let’s Do It”
- Machine Gun Kelly-“Bloody Valentine”
- Zebrahead-“All My Friends Are Nobodies”
If you’re a long time Tony Hawk skater like myself you might get a little bored of the maps we’ve already played for years or maybe you’re one of those gamers who likes to push and challenge themselves, these skaters will be happy to know that they can create a skate park of their own, just like they could before. Players can add set pieces to their park easily.
These general parts are:
- Rails for grinding
- Quarter pipes
- Slopes
- Stairs
- Fun boxes
- Vegetation
Little Nightmares
Creepy, dark, and spooky…it’s not the Adams Family but “Little Nightmares” is a puzzle horror adventure game that Wednesday and Pugsley would definitely be all over! The player controls a yellow rain coat girl named 6, who looks like they came out of the Stephen King novel “IT”. 6 wakes up from a strange nightmare and is trying to escape the Maw, a ship that they are trapped on. All 6 has is her lighter and speed to get around the spooky ship while leeches fall from the ceiling or creep on the ground waiting to snare 6 or artificial eyes that turn 6 into stone.
Nomes hide in the shadows and watch 6 from a distance or run away when she gets close. 6 suffers from hunger and must find food.
The gameplay controls for “Little Nightmares” are simple and uncomplicated, this isn’t a button mashing game in the least. The atmosphere, sound effects, and music are part of the draw to this game. The save points are little lanterns that 6 can ignite with her lighter but unfortunately these checkpoints are scarce and scattered far apart, so completing some puzzles can be challenging and a little frustrating.
“Little Nightmares” isn’t a very long game but it’s a fun and challenging one for fans of the horror video game genre.
Yakuza: Like A Dragon
A RPG developed by Sega Yakuza: Like A Dragon follows protagonist Ichiban kasuga Who is on a quest to become a hero after being released from prison. He wants to know who is responsible for setting him up and he wants justice, the street kind. yakuza: like a dragon breaks from the traditional button mashing Yakuza games and has switched to a more classic RPG turn based combat style system. Fighting is fun and players can parry in real time which keeps combat engaging.
There are plenty of different types of enemies to fight with special skills moves like “tossing a salad”…yeah.
Players can gain extra experience by fighting in the dungeon areas known as arenas. Players can level up their team which can make playing the early levels of the game a little easier and more fun. Players should be aware that Experience gained from these areas isn’t as beneficial in the later levels.
Players can roam the game map and interact with the citizens they encounter and take part in side quests and missions as well as racing in the Dragon Kart races. These are time-based races that take players all around the map testing their street racing skills. Yakuza: like a dragon made a big change to the gameplay mechanics of the series which could be a refreshing take for old lovers of the game but is also fun and entertaining for the new players to experience.
