July brings us a big boom with a multiverse Crash Bandicoot 4, a spooky ghost story driven adventure in the Man of Medan from the makers of Until Dawn and Arcadegeddon, a game by IllFonic released for free on 07/05/22!
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time
“Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time” by Activision is a 4-player adventure in the Bandicoot multiverse. It’s a popular troupe at the moment, just go with it. Crash 4 brings more playable characters, abilities, and unique skins to the game. This is the 8th game in the franchise!
Crash and his sister Coco are questing for Quantum Masks to stop the evil Doctors Tropy and Cortex from controlling the multiverse after UkaUka accidentally opened a rift in time trying to break out of jail. Crash and Coco are joined by their former nemesis Dingodile and Crash’s old main squeeze, Tawna. The quantum masks help Crash and Coco traverse obstacles they may encounter.
Players battle across a map of 10 dimensions each with their own unique theme.
The game has two game modes, “Modern” and “Retro”.
In the Modern setting players will be returned to the last checkpoint when they die. In the retro setting players are given a limited amount of lives. This setting can be changed at any time.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time was met with high praise by gamers and is a continuation of the Bandicoot storyline that fans of the franchise are sure to enjoy!
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan
Man of Medan Is a interactive horror game brought to us by Bandai Namco Entertainment. This is the first of 8 planned horror games to be released. In Man of Medan players take control of one of 5 characters who are on a diving expedition in the South Pacific looking for a sunken WWII plane. When the group is taken over by pirates they are forced to search for a legendary treasure. What they find is a lot more disturbing.
Man of Medan is kind of like a choose your own adventure story where players are to make decisions based on their “heart and mind” or do nothing which all have unique consequences. Players literally have a “moral compass” which shows them the consequences of their actions.
Man of Medan has a unique multiplayer aspect. There’s a “shared story” which allows two players to play cooperative online or “Movie Night” which allows up to 5 players to select an individual character and to “pass” the controller when the character needs to make a choice.
Arcadegeddon
This is a new title release. Literally 07/05/2022 is the official release of this co-op multiplayer game by IllFonic powered by the Unreal engine. Arcadegeddon Offers both PVE and PVP play.
The story behind Arcadegeddon is that a local arcade owner, Gilly, is trying to save his establishment from being consumed by “the man” known as Fun Fun Co. by taking all of the best Arcade games and combines them into a super game. Fun Fun co wants to destroy his game by hacking it and setting off a virus. It’s up to the players to defeat the gangs and gain “street cred” to defeat the evil big corporation and save the small businessman.
This is a game that seems to be appealing to the anarchist growing in us all.
Arcadegeddon is a colorful carton like 3rd person multiplayer shooter. Players can interact with 12 different gangs that hang out in Gilly’s. Players can unlock leaders as they progress through the game. Leaders give challenges that can unlock cosmetics and tokens to be spent on upgrades.
