PlayStation Plus Explains New Membership Tiers
This is a big month for PlayStation Plus subscribers! A few months ago Sony announced changes to its PlayStation Plus subscription program. These changes take effect this month and come with different benefits and price points for every budget. Sony has done away with its streaming program which was known as “PlayStation Now” and incorporated it into the new tier program. If gamers are happy with what they have now, nothing really changes, but for those who want more access to games long forgotten, there’s two new options available.
Free games are still available for all tiers and this months free games are listed below and are available to download and play now.
God of War-2018
Kratos is back in the long awaited “Game of the year” sequel to the hit God of War franchise. No longer is he the lone warrior seeking revenge on the Ancient Greek gods, but is a Daddy learning how to raise a son, Atreus, after the death of his mother. This is the eighth installment of the series and the sequel to the 2010, God of War III. In this new adventure, the daddy/son duo face a slew of Norse monsters as they take on a quest that extremely personal to them, to spread the ashes of Kratos’ second wife and mother of his son at the top of the highest peak in the 9 realms. Kratos has exchanged his dual chain blades and now uses an enchanted battle axe. This hack and slash is a fantastic adventure that gamers, both new and old to the franchise, will enjoy!
Naruto to Baruto: Shinobi Striker-2018
Naruto to Baruto: Shinobi Striker Is a team based action fighting game. Players compete in groups of 4. Players get the opportunity to create their own Naruto Shinobi type fighters including costumes and moves to take into battle online. There is no solo story mode for this game, but Online PvP match modes include: Capture the flag, base battle, & team death modes.
This is a cool game for lovers of the Naruto franchise!
Nickelodeon All Star Brawl-2021
Are you ready to Rumble kids? Now gamers can Brawl and Smash in their own fighting game that stars a lot of their favorite characters from Nickelodeon’s most popular TV shows. All Star Brawl supporters up to 4 players locally or online. Battles take place in any of the 20 different levels including the Jellyfish fields of Bikini Bottom or The Technodrome from the teenage mutant ninja turtles show.
Players can pick from playable characters like SpongeBob, Leonardo or Michelangelo, Invader Zim, Danny Phantom, Hey Arnold!, and many more all with special moves and combos based on their personalities.
The variety of characters, moves, and levels makes for hours of good fighting fun!
What are the PS plus tier membership changes?
Starting on June 13th PlayStation plus and PlayStation now will be merged into Sony’s new three tiered subscription service, offering gamers a chance to play classic PlayStation games as well as limited time game trials.
Those gamers who have already subscribed to prepaid months of PlayStation Plus or PlayStation Now will automatically be enrolled in the Essentials program with all of its benefits for however long their subscriptions are paid up for.
PlayStation Plus Essentials is basically the current PS plus membership as it is now.

- Cloud storage for saved games.
- Online multiplayer access
Price: $9.99 a month, $24.99 for 3 months, and $59.99 for a year.
PlayStation plus Extras Comes with all of the benefits of the Essentials program but with an expanded library. Of over 400 games including 3rd party licenses.

- All of the benefits of the essentials tier
- 400 game catalogue of games including 3rd party licenses.
Price: $14.99 a month, $39.99 for 3 months, and $99.99 for a year.
PlayStation Plus premium has all of the benefits of the Extras tier but with an expanded library of 340 games ranging from PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP games! Premium members are promised to have access to “limited time trials” of games.

- Additional 340 game catalogue
- PS3 games available via cloud streaming.
- Access to streaming games from PlayStation, PSP, and PS4
- Time limited game trials so players can test out games before they purchase.
Price: $17.99 a month, $49.99 for 3 months, and $119.99 for a year.
