Master Kush the warrior kitty is a Kahjit from the desert lands of Elsweyr. One afternoon while hunting desert rodents for an evening stew he took a tumble down a hill and was knocked unconscious. It was his bad luck to be picked up by a group of Stormcloak scouts who had let one of their prisoner’s escape. They shacked Master Kush and threw him in their prisoner cart, hoping their Captain wouldn’t notice the discrepancy in the prisoner manifest.
This is the journal of Master Kush’s adventures in Skyrim.
Day 1- Man, I hate Spiders!
I sent “O” to take care of the dad-pad and hired my fellow Khajit brother J’zhargo to be my new companion. Nothing against “O” at all, He was a very skilled and powerful wizard and companion. I just think cats do better in pairs. Even though I think “J” was trying to kill my when we first met with his faulty exploding scrolls… but what two adult male cats ever get along when first meeting?
Anyhow, I pissed on his shoes and he got the point that I was the Dragonborn and I was the One in charge. “J” and I went to go explore the ancient Dwemer excavation going on in Nchuand-Zel. Dwemer…psh, where are they now? I think it’s all a myth.
We arrived a few days later. It was an impressive dig site, looked more like ancient Thalmor than “Dwemer”…but what do I know? I’m just a cat.
We met with Calcelmo, an old wizard who is opening a Dwemer museum and in charge of the dig. He gave us some information about what we could expect and they key to proceed into the dig site. As J and I made our way into the site we found lots of spiders! Lots and lots of spiders…no wonder no one ever came here…No Dwemer technology, at least that’s what we thought until we cleared a door behind that was obstructed from view by a wall of thick spider webs.
Well, we should have left that wall where it was because that’s when we found Nimhe. Nimhe was a large spider, and I mean as big as a house large, who was making it impossible to reach this area or survive if you ever did. We took care of that thing like a big boot to a house spider and pushed forward.
We discovered a grand labyrinth of Dwenmer engineering! Large mechanical guards that sprang to life whenever they sensed a body was near. They looked like statues yet they somehow lived? Fascinating! They make a loud clanging when they die that makes me jump every time! We also found something called Alethius Note: We took our findings to the old man Calcelmo and he rewarded us. He’s also a great source of magic knowledge, he had pretty much every scroll and book I could think of. I definitely stocked up.
Day 3- Stealing in the name of…
Being that J’hzargo and I were on a Dwemer kick we decided to head south toward Arkngthanz which sounded Dwemer so we thought it’d be worth the trip. We passed by an Orc stronghold called Dushnikh Yal, they yelled racial insults at us from their fort. We yelled some of our own back and they had a laugh. They offered to consider me a blood-kin to Orc Kind if I can find these special gauntlets their chieftain is looking for. Sounds like a worthwhile venture, these orcs control a lot of the mines and I’m tired of killing them just to dig some dirt.
As we approached the ruins the ground was shaking…it came and went, it didn’t Happen again so, earthquake? We pressed on but As soon as we entered we heard a voice whisper “turn back”… so of course we shrugged and moved on.
A blue vapor appeared and took the form of a woman named Katria. She was an adventurer who didn’t survive her last quest. She was not just any wanderer, She wrote the “Arthenian Wars” but her research was stolen and published by her apprentice! The punk got rich for plagiarizing her work! She pleaded with me to leave but I didn’t. So she did the next best thing, Katria, seeing that we were not going to be swayed then offered to help, so I agreed. We made our way through lots of “sonic” doors and locks that were little challenging to figure out. With a little patience, brain power, and a book we found, we made our way through them. We came to discover the treasure we were looking for was called an “artherium shard”. I had randomly found another like it earlier in my quest days. Katria needs us to find a forge to help combine these pieces together…maybe we should figure out why they were separated to begin with…meh. Meow.
Day 4 When you wish upon a Star
We went to the College of Winterhold to meet with Nelacar and give him Azura’s Star. Nelacar said that he was going to put my soul into the Star. Of course I wasn’t too excited with the idea of being separated from my body…Nelacar assured me that he would keep my body alive while I was in the stone but it was important that Malyn be defeated. I was teleported into the crystal and everything went white!
Everything was shiney, what else would the inside of a crystal look like? Malyn used conjuring magic to try to overwhelm me with lots of versions of himself, but I conjured a small tribe of my own and with little worry to my ever loving soul, we vanquished Malyn. Nelacar successfully reunited me with my body however, I did notice that my armor was a little bigger than I remember. Maybe it was just me. Nelacar gave me Azuras Star which is a never ending soul trap! This can come in very handy!
Day 6 Sticking my nose where it doesn’t belong…
We made our way to the other side of known Skyrim to a place we’ve been before, the Thalmor kingdom of Markath. I got a real snooty vibe from the people here. I came to the Shrine of Talos, after finding a note pointing us there. We spoke to Eltrys, he wants me to look into the forsworn.
We did some searching around and found out the foresworn were being run from the local prison mine and that the Silver-Blood family, who secretly runs Markarth, is in the middle of it all.
I knew that asking too many questions would lead us into trouble… we went back to report to Eltrys but he was dead! So were a couple of guards! J and I were about to flee like the wind when we were trapped by Silver-Bloods and guards! We fought hard but We were arrested and I was sent to the mines…for life… hmph
…We’ll see about that.
Day 7 “Snitches Get Stitches!!!”
While in pokey, I got to meet some real unsavory types. I met with the big cheese himself, Madanach, the leader of the forsworn and the man running the show from prison.
The forsworn are mad that the Nords came in and took their land. The leader agreed to work with a Thanor Silver-blood in order to gain his trust and eventually, to get his revenge!
Madanach asked me to kill a snitch in order to prove that I was trustworthy and worthy of his protection and consideration. I secured a shiv. Nothing like a Good ol’ fashion shiv in the back!
I quietly snuck behind the snitch who was doing some snitch looking things and whispered into his ear “snitches get stitches” and punctured all of his important parts. He died bloody and quickly! Madanach used the commotion to spring a jail break! We mad rushed the guards and snuck out through a tunnel the lads had been working on. The forsworn were gracious and even grabbed my armor and personal things from the lock up for me before we parted ways. I’ve got the feeling that’s not the last I’m going to be hearing from that crazy group of warriors!
