Master Kush the warrior kitty is a Kahjit from the desert lands of Elsweyr. One afternoon while hunting desert rodents for an evening stew he took a tumble down a hill and was knocked unconscious. It was his bad luck to be picked up by a group of Stormcloak scouts who had let one of their prisoner’s escape. They shacked Master Kush and threw him in their prisoner cart, hoping their Captain wouldn’t notice the discrepancy in the prisoner manifest.
This is the journal of Master Kush’s adventures in Skyrim.
Day 1 the Brotherhood has been summoned.
Astrid has a special job for me after completing my last three contracts successfully. I guess she’s starting to trust me more now. She wants me to head to Markarth to meet someone named Muiri. She has performed “the Dark Sacrament.” “I’ve been summoned” to fulfill her request for murder, the Dark Brotherhood doesn’t disappoint.
Day 2 Red Eagles Sword
On my way to Markarth I stopped by Red Bluff Cave. Even though I had been there before I needed to find the lost sword of Red Eagle. The legend has gone unsolved for countless ages so I was curious to see why this had gone unsolved for so long. Inside the cave we met with several forsworn warriors. We battled and killed them all and finally found his sword. The quest wasn’t over yet, I needed to unlock its secrets which needed to be done at a place called Rebels Carin, another dark cave.
Once I placed Red Eagle’s sword into the holder a large door opened up to a huge cavern that held several tombs. The secret to Red Eagle’s sword was that Red Eagle was dead and he wanted his sword back!
We obliged him before we sent him and his undead minions back to the afterlife for a second time!
Day 3 The Dark Sacrament Fulfilled
.
When I arrived in Markarth I needed to deliver a purchase agreement to Kleeper on behalf of Maven from the Thieves guild. I like to kill two birds with one stone whenever I can. The slimy Nord shopkeeper tried to pull a fast one and “forget” about paying me…I had to gently remind this ghoul who I was. He gave me some gold for my troubles, I was about to give him an earful when I noticed a pretty brunette in the store. She looked sad. I figured she was upset to be working for a man who probably tries to forget about paying her too. I asked Kleeper who she was and he confirmed that it was Muiri who was working in the shop…she was the one that had been summoning the dark brotherhood.
She was surprised that the black sacrament worked I gave her a shrug and gestured to myself being in front of her that obviously it had because there I was. I asked her for the name of the target. She said his name was Alain Dufont, a cutthroat killer and liar according to Muiri. She offered me a side deal for a w woman named Nilsine Shatter-Shield.
I asked her to tell me why she wanted these people dead. Muiri told me that a very good friend of hers had passed away and she was mourning her. Her Friend was Friga Shatter-Shield and she was like a sister to her. Alain has heard about the death and decided to infiltrate the family and use their grief against them and rob them blind! He gained Muiri’s confidence and whispered romantic things in her ear and then he used her as a scapegoat, ruining her reputation with the Shatter-Shields. She wants Nilsine dead out of revenge for not being believed by Tova, her mom. She says that by losing both daughters and not having Muiri around she would truly feel the absence of her as being a member of her family. I think it’s misguided hate, but it’s my job to honor the clients wishes not offer counseling. She gave me some poision she had brewed to coat my weapon with if I chose.
Day 4 Contract Killer!
It was early in the afternoon when we found the Shatter-Shield daughter walking in the market of Winterfell and she was easy enough to pick off from a distance. Of course committing a murder out in the open like that we drew a lot of attention from the guards and because of that we needed to fight our way out of the city.
While making our way through the snowy mountain side we ran into a dragon, A dragon that had a name, Viinturuth. I’m not sure why he was named but I thought it might be important to write down here just in case. We found some Dwemer ruins, Raldbthar. This is where the Dark Sacrament contract target had last been seen. There were several active ancient Dwemer traps scattered throughout the ruins.
We caught the target having dinner deep inside the Dwemer Keep, I put an arrow through his chest.
Of course just when we thought we were home free we were met by a series of mechanized guardians that sprung to life as soon as we got within their view.
The Dwemer traps and closed doors pushed me deeper and deeper into the labyrinth of metal gates and cogs, I felt like I needed to keep going. So I did.
After fighting my way to past Dwemer spiders and rolling guardians I met a ghost I remember from my past. She was the one that was looking for the shards. She lead me to another. That’s three out of four so far.
I reported back to Muiri and let her know her wish had been fulfilled. she was very grateful and gave me a ring which will help me create stronger potions.
Day 6 Darkness Rises When Silence Dies
I went back to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary so I can talk to Astrid and let her know of my success with the contract.
Hail Sithis! Astrid confided in me that she is also suspicious of Cicero. She says that he has locked himself in the night mothers chamber and is either talking to himself or is talking to someone. He is very strange and she wants to know who he is speaking with. She thinks he might be conspiring to do something, Astrid is coming off as a little paranoid but then again, I don’t trust the fool either.
Astrid thought that it would be a good idea for me to hide in the night mothers coffin in order to spy on Cicero. Little did I know that the night mother would actually be the one that cicero was speaking to but she wasn’t speaking to him. According to the legend the Night Mother will speak to someone who she chooses. Someone that they called “the Listener.” My fur stood on edge and I nearly pissed myself when I started to hear her speak to me in a raspy voice. She called me the listener! She wants me to travel and speak to a man named Amaund in Volunruud . In order for me to prove to Cicero that I speak the truth she gave me a phrase “Darkness rises when silence dies”
While I was hiding in the coffin I heard Cicero naming the individuals of the brotherhood that he had spoken to. He was getting increasingly angry and frustrated with the Night Mother’s silence when he flung open the doors and discovered that I was there!
Cicero began to scream about the disrespect to the Night Mother until I told him that I was “the one” and she had spoken to me! It wasn’t until I revealed the phrase that he believed me. He began to rejoice and legitimately seemed to be happy that the prophecy has been filled. Astrid heard the commotion and came in to see what was going on. I told her that I was the Listener and was told to go to Volunruud. She told me that she did not know the person but has heard of Volunruund. She told me not to go and give her time to think about all this. She seemed pretty bothered about me potentially usurping her leadership of the family and felt it necessary to remind me. She told me to go see Nazir instead.
Nazir gave me two contracts: one to hunt an orc bard who is so bad that many people want him dead…and the other is to hunt a vampire named Hern who travels with a female named Hert.
Astrid has the right idea, I’m going to take a few days off to think and rest, I’ve definitely earned a break.
