Ever since the long-running success that is Grand Theft Auto V hit our screens,
we have been waiting patiently for the next instalment in the series to present
itself. Rockstar Studios have been very quiet within this period, only offering
players new content in the form of GTA Online updates and, of course, the
incredible Red Dead Redemption II. However, as the pressure to show their hand
for Rockstar becomes insurmountable, we may finally get our first bit of official
news regarding GTAVI.
This leak popped up on the notorious website called 4Chan, a site known for a
number of fake leaks in the past but equally, a few leaks that proved to be true.
So for that reason, we don’t know if this source is to be trusted or not. This info
was passed on during an hour-long AMA where ‘very specific details’ were
shared regarding the upcoming title.
Very Specific Details?
Although we don’t know if there is any truth to these rumors, we can at least
play devil’s advocate and see what has been said. Allowing us to form an opinion
and dream about the GTA experience we may or may not receive. Firstly, we
were informed that this title would have a 60-70 hour long story, much like the
very successful RDR2. Plus, it is thought that this game will have a more retro
setting than recent games in the series, with rumors suggesting this game will
be set in the late ’70s.
In addition to this, many have been led to believe that the setting will be based on
the real-life setting of Miami, Florida. A fact that, if true, would likely mean that we
would be heading back to Vice City, the city from the much-beloved PlayStation 2
title. The protagonist is supposedly a male named Ricardo, however, this would
conflict with previous leaks that suggest that we will be getting our first playable
female protagonist in the series.
Other notable leaked details include a much more open quest format, much
improved AI and traffic mechanics, Liberty City will also be a playable area to
some extent and allegedly, the map will be smaller than RDR2’s map. However, it
is suggested that the map in question will be much denser to make up for the
lesser square mileage.
Total Remaster In The Cards?
Not only did we receive quite a lot of potential GTA6 news in this leak. We also
were treated to a leak regarding the original Red Dead Redemption. According to
these reports on 4Chan, the rootin’ tootin’ cowboy shooter could be getting a full
remaster using the RDR2 engine, bringing it up to the standard of the current
generation. This would be a much welcome remaster for the fans of the seriesand we can only hope that there is some truth to these claims. We suppose only
time will tell.
So that is our news regarding Rockstar Studios and the potential GTA6 news and
RDR remaster. What do you make of the news? Do you think there is any truth to
these claims? Do you think that this is an elaborate hoax? What do you think
GTA6 will look like when it finally arrives? Let us know in the comments section
below and as always, thank you for reading.
