Despite what our respective mothers might say, we are far from too old for an
advent calendar. There is nothing more exciting than opening each door day by
day to see what trinket or gift lies in waiting for you. So you can imagine what
kind of excitement would be in store if we swapped little chocolate goodies for
say some iconic AAA video games. It sounds too good to be true but we assure
you, this is a Christmas miracle.
The Epic Games store, an online retailer best known for its generosity and
tendency to offer it’s users free games very regularly indeed. Has decided to
make an advent calendar of their own. With not one, not two but a whopping
fifteen games being made free to play for all customers. So if that doesn’t get you
in the Christmas spirit, we don’t know what will.
What’s Behind The Door?
Unlike conventional advent calendars, Epic haven’t left us pondering what might
be in store for us in the coming days. Instead they have released the full list of
titles for us before the festivities, meaning that we can see exactly what’s on the
cards each day. The list of games on offer is full of marquee titles of the past few
years and anyone who wants to bolster their gaming library could really use this
bundle. Here is a full list of all the free games on offer.
However, despite this leaked list hitting the various social media outlets a few
days ago, it seems they may be subject to change. The free games list kicked off
today and instead of the listed title ‘Dying Light’ being made free for players. The
actual title on offer was none other than City: Skylines, an impressive city building
experience. Admittedly, they are both very different titles but thankfully, both are
very well crafted titles and worth your time.
Double Down?
While there will be a cavalcade of content to get through with just the free titles
alone, you could double down on the fun. The Epic Store is also offering some
really incredible deals during their holiday sale period, with some new and
interesting titles being available for peanuts.
You’ll be able to pick up the new space dogfighting masterclass Star Wars Rogue
Squadrons with 40% off, Rainbow Six: Siege with 60% off and you’ll even be able
to grab the outstanding Viking adventure Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla for 17% off
the fu retail price. So be sure to peruse your options and grab yourself a tidy deal.
So that’s our news regarding the free games on offer through the Epic Games
Store. Which of the leaked titles do you hope are correct? What game would you
love to see pop up on this list? Will you be taking advantage of the holiday sale?
