Some gamers might remember the excellent games that Nintendo and Sega came out with when most of us were just kids just getting introduced to the gaming world. We had characters like Mario, Luigi, Link, Donkey Kong, Pikachu to name a few. However, one Youtuber in the let’s play universe decided to bring us back to the world of Sega with our favorite little blue hedgehog.
Sonic the Hedgehog has been known to be one of the fastest beings on the planet, being able to run at warp speeds and thwarting the evil attempts of world domination by Dr. Robotnik, also known as Eggman. The blue friend of ours had multiple early games that included his friend’s Miles “Tails” Prowler, Amy Rose, Big the Cat, and Knuckles the Enchidna.
One of the first games of the 21st century to come from the Sega Dreamcast was the sequel to Sonic Adventure, called Sonic Adventure 2. And in this piece, Thundershot69, whom is well known in the let’s play universe from his Dragonball games, decides to take a blast from the past and adventure around with our blue friend.
Sonic Adventure 2 was originally released for the Sega Dreamcast, but was re-released as arcade games for the Xbox 360 and the Playstation Network on Playstation 3. This allowed players who had favorite games from the past systems like the Dreamcast and the Nintendo 64 to play some of their favorite nostalgic games. It was an awesome feature for the two systems.
Thundershot69 is a well renown Dragonball Youtuber and the majority of his let’s plays revolve around the games of the anime series. With over 125,000 subscribers, he is perhaps the best known let’s player of the Dragonball Universe. His slogan is perhaps known as the reasoning behind his Youtube name. He went with Thundershot69 because numbers 1-68 were taken. It adds a bit of humor to his site.
When watching his let’s play on Sonic Adventure 2, he adds quite an interesting twist to it. Instead of playing through the Hero and Dark story, he syncs the two of them and plays the story in chronological order. This allows the viewer to see the story from a completely new perspective. It also adds some originality to it as well. I am sure no one has thought of this idea.
In this article, I have decided to cover the sixth part to this let’s play. In this one, we see Sonic and Shadow combat each other for the first time. He brings a unique twist right off the bat with a split screen on both Sonic and Shadow’s fight scene, which is an interesting element.
During the fight, we get to see an Easter Egg that Thundershot69 points out throughout his let’s play, and that is the appearance of Big the Cat. It is quite interesting, because he always pauses the let’s play so that the viewer can see when he spots the character.
After their first clash, Sonic needs to escape the island before it explodes. He does as Shadow saves Rouge the Bat from the island as well with his chaos control. The rest of the video features Knuckles as he searches for more pieces of the Chaos Emerald.
While we may know Thundershot69 from his Dragonball let’s plays and news, he does cover other classic games like Pokemon, Mario, and Banjo Kazooie. It allows him to cover something outside of his element and does it well actually. If classic gaming is your thing and you enjoy some Dragonball games and news, Thundershot69 is one Youtuber that you should take a look at. His classic let’s plays do not disappoint at all.
