This weekend Rhett and Link joined up with Tay Zonday to create a song called The Instagram Song (You Can’t Zoom In) as part of their weekly Songbiscuits YouTube video.
If you don’t know Tay Zonday, born Adam Nyerere Bahner, he rose to fame with Chocolate Rain back in 2007. The 32 year old Zonday has parlayed that one song into national interviews, acting gigs, more songs and a career that seems to be on a steady track.
Songbiscuits brings Good Mythical Morning’s comedy team together with a special guest, to write an original song on-the-fly, all in about an hour. They reach out to fans on Twitter to help construct the lyrics which adds to the complexity and craziness of the final product.
Rhett Mclaughlin is great on guitar as he pulls together the chords and song structure. Link Neal helps with the lyrics and melody.
Once the topic of not being able to zoom in on Instagram pictures is agreed upon, the fans of Tay Zonday throw out some awesome lines like “you don’t know if it’s a nose ring or a booger.”
The song is hysterical and the deadpan delivery from everyone is just awesome.
Tay’s silky deep voice adds some great voice-over and brings the whole song together.
